Lumecca is a non-invasive treatment using intense pulsed light (IPL). It is used to improve the appearance of selected pigmentation irregularities and superficial vascular concerns, such as sun spots, age spots, freckles or small visible blood vessels. The suitability of the treatment is always assessed individually according to the condition and type of the skin.
Lumecca delivers short pulses of intense light into the skin. The light is selectively absorbed by pigments found, for example, in pigmentation spots or small blood vessels. The light energy is converted into heat in the targeted area, where it acts on the selected concern. Treatment settings are adjusted according to the specific indication and skin type.
Lumecca is most commonly used to treat selected pigmentation concerns and superficial vascular irregularities. Not every spot or area of redness is suitable for IPL treatment, which is why the skin is always assessed by a specialist beforehand.
The treatment may be suitable for clients concerned about:
sun spots or age spots
freckles and uneven skin tone
small superficial blood vessels
selected types of redness
Before the procedure, we will discuss your expectations, medical history, any medications you are taking, as well as recent sun exposure or cosmetic treatments. Suitability is determined during an individual consultation.
The face, neck, décolleté and backs of the hands are among the most commonly treated areas. Other areas may also be considered depending on the specific skin concern and after assessment by a specialist.
The duration depends on the size of the treated area and the extent of the procedure. The exact treatment time will be discussed during your consultation.
Before the procedure, the skin is assessed and prepared. Protective eyewear is worn throughout the treatment. The applicator delivers short pulses of light, which may be perceived as flashes accompanied by a brief sensation of warmth or mild stinging.
After the treatment, the skin may temporarily appear red or feel warm. Pigmentation spots may initially darken and then gradually flake away. Skin response and recovery time vary from person to person. Following the procedure, it is important to follow the recommended aftercare and protect the skin from sun exposure.
Targeted light treatment — IPL energy is directed at selected pigmentation concerns or superficial vascular irregularities.
Individual settings — Treatment parameters are adjusted according to the treated area and the characteristics of the skin.
Non-invasive method — The treatment does not require surgery or needles.
Suitable for different areas — Depending on the indication, Lumecca can be used on the face as well as other areas of the body.
The treatment is not suitable for everyone. During the consultation, it is important to mention recent sun exposure, photosensitivity, medications, active skin conditions or a tendency to develop cold sores in the treated area. Suitability and aftercare recommendations are determined by a specialist.
Book a consultation to find out whether Lumecca treatment is suitable for your skin.
