Plastic arm surgery: Arm Lift
The sagging skin is not just a matter of face and neck, but it can also appear on our arms, where…
Breast augmentation (breast enlargement) is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery. At the Mediestetik Clinic in Prague, we approach each patient individually, with an emphasis on natural-looking results, a safe surgical course, and respect for both anatomy and the woman’s wishes. Modern techniques and certified breast implants allow us to achieve breast shape and volume that harmonize with the body and appear natural. Are you looking for fuller breasts without universal “one-size-fits-all” solutions? Then you are in the right place.
Augmentation mammoplasty, i.e. breast enlargement using silicone implants or autologous fat, is the most common plastic surgery procedure worldwide. According to estimates, more than 3 million women have undergone breast augmentation over the past 35 years, and this number continues to rise. There are several reasons why women choose this procedure: long-term dissatisfaction with breast size, breast asymmetry, or significant changes after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging.
The cost of breast augmentation primarily depends on the type of implants, the complexity of the procedure, and individual anatomy. At Mediestetik, we offer certified breast implants and comprehensive perioperative care. The indicative price for breast augmentation with implants starts at CZK 94,280 (depending on the selected implant type). An exact quotation will be provided by the plastic surgeon after consultation and examination.
The price usually includes: consultation, general anesthesia, surgery, certified implants, hospitalization, and postoperative care (the exact scope is specified during consultation).
Choosing the right implant is crucial for achieving a natural-looking result that corresponds to body proportions. During a personal consultation, we discuss implant shape (round or anatomical), profile, volume, and placement.
Implants are most commonly placed under the pectoral muscle, under the mammary gland, or using the dual-plane technique, which combines the advantages of both approaches. Each option has its indications, benefits, and limitations and is not suitable for every patient.
The choice of implant type and placement depends mainly on:
amount of existing breast tissue
skin and subcutaneous tissue quality
strength of the pectoral muscle
chest width
lifestyle and sports activity
previous pregnancy or breastfeeding
In cases of significant breast asymmetry, unilateral implant placement may be considered, although augmentation is usually performed on both breasts.
Implant size is always selected individually, taking anatomy and patient preferences into account. During consultation, we use silicone sizers and other tools to make the result as predictable and long-lasting as possible.
The first step is always a comprehensive personal consultation, during which the physician discusses your wishes, treatment options, and expected outcomes. Once surgery is planned, preoperative examinations follow, including blood tests, ECG, and breast ultrasound, along with evaluation of personal and family medical history.
Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1–2 hours. Immediately after surgery, the patient is monitored by qualified medical staff.
Hospitalization usually lasts 1–2 days to ensure maximum comfort and safety. After discharge, a rest regime is recommended. For six weeks, an elastic compression bra must be worn, and physical strain—especially lifting heavy objects and activities involving the chest muscles—must be avoided. Smoking is not recommended during this period.
The outcome depends primarily on a detailed and fully individualized consultation with the plastic surgeon, who considers all relevant factors, including body proportions, chest dimensions, breast gland size, and the patient’s wishes and expectations. Implant size is selected together with the surgeon using silicone sizers worn in a special bra. It should be emphasized that breast augmentation provides primarily a volume-enhancing effect. In smaller, mildly sagging breasts, implants may also create a lifting effect; in larger breasts, a combination of augmentation and breast lift is often necessary. The final result is typically assessed after six weeks, once the compression bra period has ended.
Swelling and tenderness are common after surgery and gradually subside. In the first weeks, it is essential to follow the surgeon’s recommendations and wear the compression bra.
Indicative recovery timeline:
Days 1–3: rest, check-up, standard analgesics as recommended
Weeks 1–2: limited upper limb activity, scar healing
Weeks 3–6: gradual return to normal activities, continued bra use
After 6 weeks: return to sports according to surgeon’s advice
The exact recovery plan is always individualized.
