Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Free movement is important for all of us. When every step or every movement of your arm hurt, the time has come to visit an orthopaedist – the medical specialist focused on prevention, treatments and rehabilitation of various malfunctions or injuries of the musculoskeletal system.

What kind of problems do we treat?

We provide complex services in the field of orthopaedics and sports medicine. We treat a whole variety of problems of the musculoskeletal system, such as post-injury states and chronic tendon or fibrous pains, degenerative joints disease, ligament injuries or tendon ignitions (ex. Achilles’s tendon ignition), arthritis or so called tennis or golf elbow etc.

We also provide orthopaedic prevention as the foundation of the services of our acclaimed orthopaedic specialist Dr. Filip Svatoš, who has rich experience from Fakultní nemocnice Královské Vinohrady and from being a team physician for the Czech representation in female handball and a club physician for the Bohemians football club.

What methods do we use?

RegenPlasm® (ACR)

Unique Swiss DNA therapy RegenPlasm® takes advantage of our own plasma which can repair and regenerate cells as nothing else can. It can order those tired ones to recover and fix the damaged ones. All that needs to be done for it is to centrifuge it and reapply. In a modern orthopaedic praxis PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment is used to treat post-injury states and chronic tendon or fibrous pains as well as degenerative joints disease especially in bearing joints. There is a significant improvement of patient’s condition after the RegenPlasm® therapy or even a complete disappearance of their problems in approximately 70 % cases, which is a great result.

Hyaluronic acid and RegenMatrix®

Hyaluronic acid is being used across various medical fields. It is naturally present in human body, for example in our joints and ligaments it enables our fluent movement. Its main functionality is to bind water and activate the growth of collagen fibres. When injected into joints, hyaluronic acid can significantly improve their pain and stiffness.

New clinical studies also show that the ultimate effect of PRP plasma treatment for degenerative joint diseases is significantly amplified by the simultaneous application of hyaluronic acid. A method combining both these substances is called RegenMatrix® and was developed in Switzerland.

Undertaking RegenMatrix® therapy, patients can expect a major decrease of pain and stiffness and a noticeable improvement of the movability of their musculoskeletal system. PRP application also speeds up and shortens the process of healing of acute, chronical and degenerative diseases of musculoskeletal system significantly.

Hyalone

Hyaluronic acid can also be used as a substitution for synovial fluid for patients suffering from degenerative or mechanically induced arthropathy of the knee or hip joints, which causes changes in the character and function of natural synovial fluid.

Replies to your questions

What effects does hyaluronic acid have in orthopaedics? Does it only protect the cartilage or does it nurture it, too?

Hyaluronic acid both protects the cartilage and nurtures it. Apart from that, it also works as a substitution for synovial fluid within the joint and it eases pain.

How often do I need to repeat the hyaluronic acid application?

Every technique and every particular substance has a unique application scheme. Some of them only require one application a year; it’s necessary to apply some twice within a short period of time and then again in 6 months and others require 3 repetitions within 56 months.

Who will benefit from hyaluronic application or who is this procedure not suitable for?

Hyaluronic acid application will help patients suffering from degenerative or mechanically induced arthropathy of the knee or hip joints, which causes changes in the character and function of natural synovial fluid. The treatment is not suitable for people sensitive to any of the components in the solution, particularly to hyaluronic acid. Indication and contraindications should always be discussed with the physician.
